Colorado has the highest average elevation of the 50 states, and Colorado Springs is at an elevation of 6,035 feet (1,839 meters). The city sits at the foot of Pikes Peak which at 14,115 feet high (4,343 meters) is one of 54 peaks in the state over 14,000 feet in height.

Glen Eyrie Castle Now a conference center, built by William Jackson Palmer, Brigadier General in the
Union Army during the Civil War, president of The Denver and Rio Grande Railroad,
and founder of Colorado Springs.
Paint Mines Interpretive Park The Paint Mines are vibrant clay formations so colorful that they look hand-painted.
The clay was gathered by Native Americans to make paint for artwork and pottery.
Royal Gorge One of the world's highest suspension bridges, a 50 mile drive south.
City of Colorado Springs Elevation 6,035 ft., a city in Colorado at the eastern foot of the Rocky Mountains.
Seven Falls A natural wonder. A series of waterfalls situated in a 1,250-foot-wall box canyon
between the towering "Pillars of Hercules."
Cripple Creek Gambling, theater-going, shopping, dancing, and exploring. Heritage museum,
Molly Kathleen Gold Mine, Victor Gold Mine, "Rita the Rock Pusher" art installation.
Bishop's Castle An "elaborate, intricate" one-man project named after its constructor, Jim Bishop,
that has become a roadside attraction.
